Pros: It was ok for a budget hotel, the price was quite reasonable.
Cons: The walks and windows could do with being a bit thicker.
Location: The location is great for shopping and so on, however, it is difficult to find if you dont know where you are going.
It was difficult to find and also to contact for directions and parking. When I checked in the staff weren't too friendly. Once I entered my room all I could hear was the people next door and everything that was going on outside. I hardly slept a wink and had to be early the next day for a meeting. The following morning I was up at the crack of dawn due to the work going on outside, I understand that can't be helped. But I didn't think the windows would of been so thin. I am currently in the process of making a complaint with the above details.

Improved rooms more changes needed

Much better than last time ,new decor has made the rooms lighter and more airey . Hallways have been repainted . Housekeeping have always been friendly but reception could be a bit more friendlier. Would stay again

Central location but that's about it

Single room was dark and dim, table lamp light bulb was not working, socket was not working to recharge your mobile phone. Bathroom was tiny but it was ok and the shower was powerful. They provided a soap. Staffs were ok. Location was great so book this hotel if you want a cheap stay at a central location. Shops, restaurants, local transport and Birmingham new street station is near by.

Faulty Towers

Room service was not available and there was no phone provided in the room to call reception in case of either emergency or for any other assistance. If guests want food they have to go down to the bar to order and collect it. Consequently I went out to the local Tesco to buy my evening supper. Wifi was only available in the reception and bar area, but not in individual rooms. The staffing on reception was inadequate, resulting in long queues for assistance. Breakfast was extremely disappointing. The hot food was very greasy and looked unappetising. There was no scrambled egg. Guests are not given facilities to make their own toast, so the toast provided was soggy and cold. There was no selection of breads. The fruit selection was poor, consisting of prunes and grapefruit, but not a lot else and neither yogurt or fruit juice were available. The food was not clearly labled, so large open dishes of what looked like pickle turned out to be jam and marmalade. My breakfast consisted of a slice cold soggy toast with marmalade and a cup of luke-warm coffee and was extremely poor value for a breakfast costing an additional £17. I should have gone and bought breakfast from the local Tesco, like I did for supper the night before!

Whole new meaning to budget hotel

Pros: The lobby looks very nice
Cons: Everything beyond the lobby needs work
Bath was dirty, toilet seat was broken, room was hotter than the surface of the sun, some automatic machinery was going all night long, the lift smells, the floors with the rooms smells worse, cobwebs in the corner of the bedroom at waist height, not all plug sockets worked, no ceiling light in the main room just a bedside lamp, wonderful view out on to other hotel rooms and a cigarette butt encrusted roof, net curtains were dirty, curtains were dirty, mattress was harder than concrete, truly awful artwork screwed to the bedroom walls. On checkout no staff present at the desk to receive feedback. Please clean this room sign was left for domestic staff, but all they did was restock the milk and sugar and make the bed. Wifi is not available in bedrooms, and this is not made very clear until you arrive.

Very disappointing Hotel

Pros: Closeness to New Street Station.
Cons: Most things
Location: Nice Italian Restaurant close by.
No information when checking in, was not told where the Restaurant was or where anything else was for that matter.

Poor staff

I was told no management were on site so had to email customer services and was told by them that nothing could be done about the issues as I should have spoken to a manager before leaving. The room was not used it was that bad but no refund was able to be given as I should have brought the issues up with management before leaving even though no management were on site. Very poor!
