Nice hotel, great location.

We had a 1 night stay, great location in birmingham. The room was a standard double room. The Air con/heater was so loud and kept me a wake most of the night, I would have turned it off but the room was so cold. We had a quite floor, however our friends had to move rooms as they were put next to a room that sounded like a night club. Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Crap location, great hotel

Pros: Comfort, ambience, copywriting
Cons: Breakfast was a little underwhelming
Location: A short walk into the centre of the city. During the run-up to Christmas there is a small Christmas market under the flyover opposite.
You wouldn't normally pick a hotel located directly across from one of Birmingham's fabled concrete flyovers - but that's exactly where Malmaison is located. And you'd be making a terrible mistake to overlook this gem. The hotel is comfortable, warm and well soundproofed, so the nearby road makes no difference. The cocktail bar is excellent and the staff a pleasure to talk to. The continental breakfast is OK, but nothing special. The bed, bath and shower are all great - even in the "cheapest" rooms. One tip - as the nicest hotel within walking/driving/spitting distance of Birmingham Arena, this is the place where the headline act will probably be staying after the show... Source: personal experience.

Birthday break in Birmingham

Pros: Good location, friendly staff, comfortable, good sized room.
Cons: Air con was a bit ferocious and it took us a while to get it right
The hotel was well located, the room a good size and very comfortable. The only Isi we had was that it took us a while to calm down the ferocious air con!

Overnight stay with a customer

Easy check in, good size modern room with great mini bar if you want it. Dined out with a customer at local restaurant then had a few drinks. The city centre was very quiet so went back to the Malmaison bar where it was absolutely buzzing! They had a DJ playing a good mix of tracks and the place had a great feel to it. The MAL Breakfast was superb! Will definitely stop there next time in Birmingham.

Lovely Time

Enjoyed our stay, this is a nice lively hotel got a good buzz to it. Breakfast is great. Staff at checkin made me feel bad because they couldn't find my booking, glad I brought the printed out confirmation. Waiting bar staff ignored us. Room was a good size.
