Fine reasonably priced hotel.

Pros: The room was small, clean and recently re- furbished. Pleasant outlook over park. Large Victorian building. Had grander days.
Cons: Very disappointing breakfast. Only white sliced bread and coffee from machine, Packet cereals and standard croissant.
Location: Area very run- down, though doubtless due for re-development. Fairly central, though bus connections to city centre poor.
We were in Birmingham for one night to attend a city centre wedding.

False Information

There was no mention on the site that guests had to provide proof of ID to stay. Lost my money as did not have proof on me, waste of my time and money. Avoid

Cheap & Nasty Hotel

Rude, miserable staff, room was dirty and freezing cold. Advertised as double room but in fact get two single matresses joint together. Did not feel welcome at all. I think the staff need a lesson in customer service. Would not go there again or recomend it to anyone else. As the title says cheap and nasty.

Not bad at all!

Pros: Friendly and easy going staff.
Cons: It seems like a lot the Paragon's rooms need refurbishment - this should be done asap to avoid further bad ratings and reviews!
Location: The Paragon is located in BHX-Digbeth, the city centre with the Bullring and the Rag Market is in walking distance (ca. 15 min).
Although the Paragon has a lot of bad ratings and bad reviews, I can't relate to these. The room I got, was refurbished and clean. Though very small (2.5 x 3 meters) everything, from TV to bathroom, worked properly. Cleaning was done daily and staff was friendly and very helpful. The Paragon may not be situated in the best of Birmingham's areas, but the very good rate made up for this.

Horrific, walked in and straight back out

Absolute mess. Not a hotel more housing for asylum seekers. Should not be advertised as a hotel.

Compliments to staff.

Staff patient and helpful, under difficult circumstances - refurbishment not completed in time for fully booked Saturday night, with consequent snagging issues with room.
