Hard better and extremely thin pillows which caused neck ache. We had a terrible nights sleep. We gave up on using the app to order drinks. It was too complicated. Waitress at breakfast was extremely slow and we waited over 30 minutes for a coffee. However the standard of the food was excellent. Overall a disappointing experience and we probably won’t stay here again

Very noisy in room due to bar area. Cold room due to single glazing. Cleaners inconsiderate talking loudly and coughing outside our door at 8am. Facilities very basic and not deserving of their star rating. V disappointing stay!

The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was lovely although there was a small amount of mould in the shower. The night entrance isnt clear.

To noisey

The room we were in war right above the main doors and you had drunks leaving the bar shouting about till 4am... No sleep...

Should have been much better.

Pros: The bathroom and pleasant staff.
Cons: A great deal - see above!
Location: Quiet, attractive square near the Jewellery Quarter. Car park at extra cost.
This hotel is in a pleasant area of Birmingham and we were looking forward to our stay. I had booked a 'Superior Double Room', but was disappointed at the seemingly poor quality of the furnishings. The blind was broken and could not be raised; the bed was OK though in a rather cramped alcove; there was a very small round coffee table with one small chair despite this being a double room; there was plenty of space between the window and the far end, but with nothing in it except the very functional grey carpet and a poor quality desk with very chipped and scruffy stool. The shower room though small was the best bit! On checking in, the receptionist told us that for an extra cost there would be a breakfast buffet between 7-9 and that cooked breakfast was available till 11. When we appeared the following morning at 8.40 there was no buffet and no staff visible. A waitress showed us to a table and looked uncomprehending when we mentioned the buffet and asked if we had ordered it. We had not been told that we needed to. She brought us a short menu of cooked options and open sandwiches which I didn't want and told us that the buffet would only have been cereal and yoghourt! We were very surprised and disappointed that a so-called 4 star hotel would have so little to offer its guests in the morning. It turned out that we were the only people having breakfast and then discovered we were the only people staying there so maybe word has got around! Very poor value.
