Front of house staff need improvement !!!
Arrived at imperial hotel after 8 hours driving. Greeted at reception by Tony, all seemed fine. We were Travelling as a party of four, two adults and two teenagers. Requested at booking both rooms to be together. However after receiving keys to my disappointment one room was on first floor and the other on 2nd floor!! Asked for rooms closer together as requested but Tony's attitude then changed drastically. He became extremely rude and unhelpful. He replied that if we book through another company he does not get requested information regsrding rooms and theses are the only rooms available? I asked to speak to duty manager as tony was in a tangent. DM said if we changed both rooms on a daily basis we could move to rooms to be closer together, how ridiculous! Totally unacceptable we were there for three nights. Finally Settled for rooms on same floor on opposite ends. We had to split up the group, one adult and teenager in each room. Certainly not what we had planned!!! It seems when problems occur in this hotel the staff are incapable of resolving the matter in professional manner. I certainly felt the staff were unwelcoming and looked down on their paying guests. Check out was not great with female assistant.Very happy to leave only to find my car vandalised in the car park. Had to pay over £100 for repair. Positive. Staff in dining room were superb made up for front of house staff.
