Enjoyable stay in perfect location
We booked an Executive Room and were assigned room 102 on floor 1 of 3. The bedroom was large, with high ceilings, a chandelier and two large windows. There was a free-standing bath in the main bedroom, with a separate en-suite shower/toilet room. (There is a neighbouring staircase, from which you can see that the en-suite room has been built into a suspended space over the stairs.) The queen bed was very comfortable with good quality linen. Bath towels were large, thick and fluffy. A 42-inch flat-screen television had the full range of standard-definition Freeview tv and radio programmes, but not HD channels. The stay was very good overall and at an excellent price, so we were very happy. There were some minor niggles; I will list them so the hotel can improve. The hotel website t&cs state that "On-site parking is complimentary but at owner's risk." In fact, parking is charged at £3.50 per day. Amenities one might expect in an Executive Room were absent, such as tissues and robes. There was an empty space where a mini-fridge/bar was clearly intended to go. There was nowhere to put soap/gel in the shower other than the floor. The glass desktop prevents a computer mouse from working. We had to produce our email confirmation to prove we had booked a rate including breakfast. Veggie sausages & poached/fried eggs were available to order at breakfast but this info was not volunteered. Check-out is an hour earlier than normal at 11:00. Most draught drinks were off-sale.
