I would not expect separate taps for hot and cold water in a modern hotel. Water was so hot I could not use it at all. Mattress were very soft - springs only, definitely not suitable for me.

The hotel was badly managed resulting in low moral staff . The was damp in places .maintenance of both grounds and the building was very poor . The staff needed to listen and write things down especially in restaurant .in fact i have nothing good to say about my stay ! Just pleased to be home !

Comfortable stay

Racing at Castle Coombe, needed a place to stay nearby. We asked for a quiet dark room (early start) Room 20 was v spacious, bath wth shower was a pleasant surprise. It was very good value, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. We had to leave before breakfast but the receptionist made me a coffee - perfect! Excellent supper too.

Drab and dull

Pros: Nothing
Cons: All of it.
Location: Fairly close to Bath which is why we chose it.
Really disappointed in our stay. The hotel is in desperate need of a makeover. There is a horrible smell of damp which given the number of automatic air freshners going off in the corridors I suggest the hotel is trying to mask, however the horrible smell is still there. The bed was appalling, I could feel the bed springs coming up underneath the sheet. We were so disappointed we didn't bother with breakfast. Plus point, the lady on reception was pleasant.

A welcome bed

My partner and I only did a quick stopover for a change of scene, to escape normal life. The room was lovely, the big bed sooooo comfy and the staff very helpful. Unfortunately by the time we got there after a working day, despite the website advising so, food was not being served. There was a big party on which may have been why. The reception staff however directed us to a pub in the nearby village called The Majors Retreat. Even though this wasnt part of our plan it was a blessing in disguise as it added to our experience. An interesting ten minute walk in the dark, a quirky pub with books and random furniture everywhere and a Humorous and charming landlord who provided wonderful food. Overall a wonderful stay

A good weekend stay

A good weekend had at the Compass Inn Hotel. Would like to stay during the week,weekend weddings a bit noisy,but did stop at midnight,so not to much of a problem. Staff exceedingly helpful and pleasant,food was very good. We will be going back again,so that we can explore Bath,Bristol and the Cotswolds some more.

overnight stay

We just needed a room & breakfast for one night. Room was great my brakfast was lovely - cooked fresh poached eggs but my daughter had the traditional which was self serve and the cooked items were luke warm while the croissant she picked up was soggy on it's bottom

Schönes Hotel, ruhig gelegen. Mit Bar und Restaurant zum Verweilen. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt.
