City stayover

Pros: Good location
Cons: Needs refurbishing
Location: Plenty of good eating places, bars, museum, cathedral, all within walking distance.
The hotel in general is tired and needs refurbishment. The location is good however as you can walk to restaurants, bars and shops.

Fire alarm

The fire alarms went off throughout the building at 10am Sunday morning and I jumped out of bed and ran down the staircases from the 6th floor in a panic!... only to find staff and a couple of other visitors meandering about leisurely and seemingly taking no notice! No explanations or instructions were given. I couldn't help wondering if this is how The Mercure ensures all visitors are up and ready for check out at noon..? Mx

central to the city opposite the canal

stayed for 2 nights, clean and tidy hotel, I usually aim for this as it is central to where I need to be. Parking is at the NCP but the hotel give a 25% discount there.

Hotel in a great location

Pros: Breakfast served until Midday on a Sunday
Cons: Level of customer service to front desk staff when expectations are not met!
Being woken up on a Sunday morning at 8am to the sound of a dog barking in the corridor/room in close proximity to ours was not great. The reaction of Staff to this comment on check out was even less impressive. Not even an apoligy!

Awesome stay

Very good hotel in a great location of the city. The view is very good and quite a lot of good restaurant nearby. The hotel room is very comfortable and staff are very friendly. The room is a bit old but everything is very welcome and clean. Will definitely stay again.

Having never been to Bristol before this was a lovely place to stay. I arrived by train with a heavy suitcase two hours before check-in. I arrived at the hotel to utilise their advertised left-luggage and they immediately checked to see if my room was available early. It was so they let me check in early at no extra charge. It's located along the river in a perfect location, 15 minute walk to the train station and 10 minute walk to the shopping quarter. Only downside is the 'courtyard' view rooms, the view wasn't great.

family holiday

Great location to explore Bristol, good breakfast with lots of choice right up until the end of service. Plenty of local restaurants to choose from although some of the closer ones a little pricey. Only downside is the parking which is ncp next door, £15 per day (with the discount) not extortionate but the car park is not the best, really tight in places and they are currently working on it so lots of dust and spaces cordoned off. Would definitely stay at the hotel again if going to Bristol.
