We arrived at reception to check in, to then be told to have a seat in the lounge, which we were there for at least 30 minutes, to then be told that there were no rooms for us, even though we had booked weeks before. We were then told that there were rooms at their sister hotel, which we then had to wait 15 minutes for a taxi to collect us and take us there. When we arrived we checked in and were given a free drink, which we accepted. After finishing our drinks, we headed to our room to find we had been given a twin room, on valentines night. So off we go back down to reception to ask why, and the helpful guy behind the desk told us that the hotel we were originally booked for, had rung them to ask for available rooms, to which they were told yes, but only twin rooms, the guy said yeah that’ll be fine... without even informing or asking us before being sent over to their sister hotel. Not a great experience at all, and the customer service we received was dreadful.

We tired to check in to our hotel, however we were asked to take a seat, and 15minutes later told that our rooms were not available, and that we were being transferred to another ‘sister’ hotel. On arrival at the next hotel we got to our rooms and found that they were twin rooms and not the doubles that we originally booked and paid for. This is on Valentine’s Day and we are a couple! This has ruined our otherwise lovely evening. It took an hour in total to be transferred to our new hotel which was then a disappointment with less facilities available, a downgrade in rooms and a lack of communication about the downgrade prior to being transferred. Overall this has been a complete shambles and is extremely unorganised and also unprofessional.

It was unfortunate that we didn't recieve the email that told us the Spa was closed, it was part of our 'special weekend'. However the staff were very pleasant and we were offered compensation.
