Botany Bay hotel is set in a perfect location and was ideal for our family getaway. Our family room was a good size and the staff were very friendly. We checked in on a Sunday, it at the most busiest time, (weekends particularly busy) and due to COVID procedures check in was very busy and we were unable to get a drink at the hotel while we waited as there was no tables free (you need to book), but the hotel are following the guidelines. Overall, our stay was lovely, and the hotel and food was very nice. Perfect location for the Viking Bay trail.

The Botany Bay Hotel has a lovely homely feel , the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. It is in a lovely location with access to very nice walks.
The rooms are all very clean and the hospitality tray very well equipped. Breakfast menu very good and delicious , well cooked and presented - as was the evening menu - extremely tasty and good value.Thoroughly enjoyable mid week stay.

Good location and room. Potential noise problem.
Overall our 3 day stay was satisfactory. A terrific view and location. Great walks across the cliffs to Margate and beyond. Room and bathroom both big and clean. But, O dear, one of those clinging shower curtains and a shower with a fixed head. Unfortunately - as the hotel caters for functions there can be noise. When we reserved our room we were assured that is was situated far from the function area so it would be peaceful. So it was, but we were disturbed by shouting drunken guests in the corridor and in the room opposite at 1 am. We phoned down to the night porter, several times but no reply so we spent a disturbed night. Next day the manager apologised and took 10 per cent of the night's stay, but we would have much preferred a night's sleep to the discount. Not the hotel's fault, but where was the night porter? The service was mixed, ranging from terse and helpful to charming and helpful. Out dinner was alright, freshly prepared. Breakfast ok..the help yourself muesli and ingredients very good, the served option not exceptional.. why is it hardly possible to have decent coffee at most UK hotels? The location of the hotel is at the end of what seems to be a private road so no nearby public transport, but a taxi from Margate, recommended by the receptionist was quick, on time and costs £5.
Overall a good and enjoyable stay.
