The staff were very helpful, the location was good and our room, though a little tired, was spacious but we were unable to get on to the Guest Wi-Fi, even after enquiring at Reception and receiving further information. We ate in the Cast Iron Bar & Grill, the food was good but we were tricked by a service charge being added to the bill AND a space for gratuities. We spoke to the manager the following morning and he refunded the added gratuity without fuss.

The hotel was lovely but we were offered a suite update which didn’t happen and the breakfast was terrible. The scrambled eggs were off and tasted of fish. When we complained to a staff member they left the eggs out for other guests to eat

Room for three adults

Pros: Most things.
Cons: Mistakes can happen but it is how they are handled that matters. Take care to ensure that guests are not ignored.
Location: Not sure. We went to the Game Fair at Hatfield House.
The hotel was fine. Charged for car parking. We booked a room for three adults but the room was only equipped for two for the refreshments and shower gel, towels etc. Two biscuits, two cups, two Glasses. I called reception and it was sorted. Next morning I left the booking form and a very polite reminder on the refreshment tray that there were three of us but it made no difference. Only two cups etc. again. Very inconvenient. Sadly a lack of communication between reception and service but it did not make us feel very welcome. I would make more fuss another time as, when asked as we left if all had been OK , I told the receptionist and she smiled and said, "sorry" in a rather half hearted way. Definitely not good enough. This is reflected in the review grades. Nothing bad.

Lovely little hotel

We stayed at the Cheshunt Marriott for one night as we were visiting family closeby the following day so the location was perfect for us. Room was a decent size, very clean and comfortable (although husband complained the bed was a little too soft for him). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding, one of the best full english breakfast's I've ever had in a hotel. Nice coffee too. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel again.

Night away

We stay at this hotel 4-5 times a year as its close to family that we are visiting. We have always found the staff friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble. I have recently felt that the rooms and the pool area are looking a bit tired and could do with updating. One of the things that can be better are the wine prices, £9.50 for a glass of wine is really excessive for a run of the mill hotel.

Different agenda

The room was a good size for a family of four. The bedding was really comfortable especially the mattress topper. Great big pillows with both firm and soft supplied. Friendly welcome form the young man on the reception desk when we arrived. The breakfast was good quality with a range of options. Our trip was only disturbed by a noisy group sharing the floor particularly a young family in the adjoining room. The father had clearly had a lot to drink and when they returned to their room at 1 in the morning there was a lot of door slamming down the corridor as they all bid each other good night and then it continued inside the room for ages. We heard far too much of what was happening on their room!! Not great when we all needed to get off to a very early start the next day. I think the hotel should consider the effects of having a large group staying on those who are on the same floor particularly adjoining rooms! At least he ran out of steam after an hour or so and we could get back to sleep.

family reunion

The hotel standards are reasonable. I was not happy with the restaurant charge for a big group. They were not that helpful in arranging the tables or serving the meals, they did not say anything about a 13.5 on the bill service charge until we paid our part of the bill when we checked out. The food was good but expensive, charging £7-10 for a salad, not that big, and £25 for a bottle of wine that possibly cost £5-6 in a supermarket. The room we were in was confortable but during the night we could hear the lift engine whenever there was someone using it.I also had to come out of the room at around 1am to ask people talking loud in the corridor from a wedding do that night.

Good hotel but rooms are a little tired

Staff wre very friendly. Fast check In and out. Communal areas very modern and clean. However, the rooms could do with a refurb as they are a bit dated. They were clean though and the bed was very comfortable. Would stay again

Relaxation, Rejuvination and Retail therapy

My daughter and I arrived on Friday night.Check in was very smooth and organised. We had no trouble in finding our room and settling in. The room contained a king sized bed, flat screen TV, sofa, tea/coffee making facilities, desk, bath, shower and separate hand basin.I did converse online with a rep the previous evening, requesting a room with twin beds, as romance was definately not on our agenda! Unfortunately, this could not be met ,as we had booked through a third party. The room was cold when we arrived-a nice touch would have been to have the room warm and welcoming-still,not to worry. Our room (212} had a lovely view over the courtyard and pool, which was picture postcard pretty because of the snow.Being 2 lone females, I was also impressed with the security in the room.Guidelines were set out in the literature in the room, about what steps to take if someone unexpectedly knocks on the door. Now to the bed-what luxury! Needless to say, my daughter wants one for Xmas. The receptionist at checkout very kindly informed us that they can be purchased from the website-so thoughtful-hmmmm On to breakfast. It was so fortunate, that neither of us was on a diet for those two days. I realise it's so cliched, but I can honestly say that nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant manager ensured that everything was in order, and that any requests were catered for.He did all this with grace, charm and an unrelenting smile. Omlettes and fried eggs were cooked to order, and the chef made the effort to exit the kitchen and ensure the guest was satisfied. I could go on about all the choices and types of food available, but it's making me hungry, and my cooking is not quite at the same standard. Just to quickly touch on the cons-Have to pay for the car park- £3per day-this, in my opinion, lowers the tone.. Bring a dongle for your laptop-no wifi and very expensive connection charges..The water pressure in the shower inadequate-needed to run around to get wet. Toiletries only sufficient for 1 person. Will report about pool and gym next time as spent all our energy shopping.Cheshunt station 5 mins away. All in all we had a very enjoyable time.
