Maybe a little ‘too new’
Throughout our stay all staff members we very friendly, approachable and couldn’t do more for us. We were a little disappointed that the rooms didn’t have a mini bar and room service was not available. The hotel was rather cold in temperature and our room heater / air con unit was very noisy in the night. We ate at the hotel restaurant which was delicious and reasonably priced. We visited the Woodland Spa during our stay, which isn’t well signposted and took us a while to find the front door. The hotel has been renovated to a high standard however it feels like something is missing. We were unsure if it is because of its ‘newness’ and lack of lived in feel, but I didn’t feel overly relaxed during the stay....maybe it was the smell of paint and new carpets that just made me feel that way. Within a few months I am sure this won’t be a problem. We are glad we visited, but do not feel the need to return again.
