Nice Hotel close to our destination.

Pros: The friendliness of the staff, quality of the food and cleanliness of the room in which we stayed.
Cons: Nothing. The Owners and staff keep on top of things by personal contact with the guests and getting their thoughts on any concerns.
Location: Cambridge beautiful city which can be reached by bus or car. Chilford Hall Vineyard who run tours and explain the wine making process and Newmarket.
On arrival the staff were friendly, asked us what we were doing during our stay and recommended the best ways to get there either by bus or taxi.

great accommodation on the bus route to Cambridge.

Pros: The room, the pub and easy access to Cambridge.
Cons: I needed to ask for a hairdryer but it was no problem
Location: On the bus route to Cambridge. Nothing really to do in the village but we had a pleasant walk round after our evening meal.
We had a great 2 night stay at the red lion. Our room was fantastic - wonderfully equipped and comfy bed. The pub has a restaurant and pub grub - we ate in the pub both nights and on both occasions the food was excellent, especially the fish and chips. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and were very knowledgable on the area. We did not fancy breakfast as we had booked in on a wine tour at the nearby vineyard, but the full English looked really inviting. We would definitely stay at the red lion again.

Wine tasting

The overall experience was very good , the hotel presents like it has recently been renovated and modernised, there are little touches like the variety of teas and drinks in the room that impress and the food was excellent ( except I've never had smoke haddock fried for breakfast, expected poached) The were a few snagging issues that we highlighted on departure that needed addressing. The pizza are lovely. But otherwise the stafff were very welcoming and friendly. I would stay again and recommend.

Nice hotel in country side

Excellent kitchen, very nice fornitures in diningroom. Big rooms in separate buildings. Modern bathrooms.
