The room was lovely, as was breakfast and the breakfast staff, but I had ordered chocolates in the room on arrival which were not there. I mentioned it to the staff on the desk who just mentioned that someone hadn't read the note properly but it was on the system and I would't be charged for it. On leaving, they tried to charge for the chocolates we didn't have, showing poor communication.

A gentlemanly stag do in Canterbury

Pros: Professional, clean, friendly
Cons: The ability to separate more beds into twins.
Location: Everything. You are in the beating heart of Canterbury.. restaurants, night life, shopping, everything..
There were twelve of us, all guys, all in our 30s coming to Canterbury. We spent the day bike riding and canoeing and ended up back at the ABode for a wonderful sleep. The staff were absolutely fantastic, they helped with everything possible, they were friendly, and great. Normally, stag dos are looked on in distain around town, even fear, no matter how sober you may actually be, people assume the worst. Not this hotel, they were absolutely great. Highly recommend.

Looks nice

Room for £347 was bad .. stayed in many good hotels, this wasn't one. Gym was disgusting, I have photos and all machines are in need of deep cleaning, drinking water is via a hose from outside! They let us stay in the room till 12 noon. If I wasn't there for my daughters graduation, I would've stayed somewhere else. Overpriced 2/10

Perfectly located, excellent facilities

Pros: Everything. Staff, layout, food and atmosphere.
Cons: Access to upper cupboards in rooms.
Location: Cathedral, Westgate, Freemasons Museum, Kings Mile shopping, in fact all of the places of interest are within a short walk from the hotel.
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Room was great (218) and well furnished with air conditioning. Plenty of storage space, although the overhead cupboard is exceptionally high, putting it out of use. Cocktail bar was brilliant, with impromptu piano player rolling out modern and old tunes with aplomb. The 'Eight After Midnight' is a great drink to close the evening on. Parking was easy for us and no hassle. Highly recommend and will be staying there again. Us: M/F couple, travelled via motorcycle, packed light, no kids.

Always love the Abode

I've stayed in the Abode a couple of times and always really enjoyed it. This was probably our favourite visit. The staff were really friendly, our room was huge and the bed really comfortable. There was quite a bit of maintenance going on on the lower floors and we were really glad we weren't there as the ceilings were all exposed right outside the bedrooms! However everything for us was clean, quiet and helpful. It's lovely to have a little gym as well.
