Awful is a understatement

In 15 years of travelling once a month every month by far the worst experience ever in going to a hotel. Booked this hotel using travel agent using my credit card 17 hours before travel, landed at cape town 11pm as we had a 6am flight to catch the following morning. Reception manager refuses to give us room as he says we have not paid showed him all receipts and emails from travel agent stating full payment made he says no I need the money upfront we debated and argued for 30 mins I stated it's paid he said no my system says you have not reservations team is closed I rang travel agent the customer service team spoke to him for 55 mins he still said no I won't check them in until they pay via credit card or give a deposit of 200 dollars to collect back at 8am but he knew we was leaving at 4.30am, even though the room was 110 dollars he wanted a deposit of 200 dollars for some reason, after a hour if arguing and we so tired we can't even stand it was agreed it's too late and too dark for us to go anywere now as it's 1am and we wasted 2 hours at front desk arguing we was forced to pay 120 dollars cash for a room that we had already paid for and travel agent agreed they would issue a refund. The rep on the phone for ebookrs agreed it was the worst service he ever seen and the guy was not flexible at all. Never in my life have I paid twice for the same room within 24 hours and never seen a manager with such arrogance on a front desk. Fafai was his name. Even though we paid 120 dollars didn't get our change he said it's not enough it should be 130, it took him 20 mins on a calculator to convert 1200 rands into usd. I recommend everyone to stay away from this hotel you will only incur problems like us standing 2 hours at reception. STAY AWAY

Exploration

It is a good location, close to all the different spots worth being discovered in Cape Town. The staff was very nice, the room always clean and the food delicious. The only things missing are big curtains to avoid being woken up at 5.30 am by the sunshine and windows which open properly.

good for a short stay

stayed there the first night when flying in late in cape town. that was absolutely ok. for a longer stay I would rather go more central.
