Lovely stay at the Novotel Cardiff with only a few minor quibbles. On arrival, a warm and friendly greeting and both my kids were given a stuffed animal each, a nice touch. Room was nice and big, although bizarrely, found a balloon under the bed. Other than that, the room was clean with e cement tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was good as well with plenty of options. The evening meal in the bar wasn’t the best though, the kids option to be fair was decent enough. However, my fried fish was so over cooked it was inedible. Disappointing. Still, those quibbles aside, it was a nice stay.

Good family stay

Enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was great, the rooms and facilities were clean and modern. The leisure facilities were great for the kids but a little too much chlorine made them both cough after a while. Overall a good family stay.

city break

Pros: Close to the city 5-10 min walk
Cons: We were luck with parking, but as we left 3 cars were fighting for my spot!
Location: 5-10 min walk from city centre
Close enough to the city centre, we had a good deal too

Novotel hotel Cardiff

We had a lovely stay at the novatel great amenities , we made great use of the sauna steam room and swimming pool after long tiring days out exploring the city. We would stay there again, however I would say, and this is only my personal preference the shed pub and restaurant was not to my liking, the food was excellent and drink was nice but the prices compared to the city for food and drink was expensive and the decor I think they were going for the industrial look not to my taste as I think a more intimate cosy style or maybe more traditional setting would be more pleasing to me again no reflection on a great hotel it's just my personal opinion, but then again my wife liked the decor so there you go different strokes for different folks.. The hotel is a very short walk to the city centre. I've no problem in recommending this great hotel to anyone as it has everything you need to unwind, gym also on site.

Decent hotel but no "wow"

We checked in for two nights, and after finding suitably cheaper parking about 10 minutes walk over the "smart bridge" we got to our room. Nothing special or fancy, but it was clean. The staff seem friendly though we didn't interact much with them. The TV volume was locked probably for noise reasons but it was too low even at maximum to be able to listen, and we didn't get our plastic cups replaced on the second day, which was suprising. All in all, not bad. Location to the centre of cardiff was also okay.

Close to shopping centre and price is affordable

Very convenient place to reside if you plan to spend shopping breaks. Hotel has good facilities which includes heated pool and although you pay for parking-it is still convenient rather than finding a place to park your car. Their standard room can accommodate 4 guests!

Great hotel in perfect position to explore city

Love everything about the hotel from the staff giving my son a toy on arrival to the Bose Bluetooth speaker in the room. The bar looks like a place you would choose to go in town and they even have an Xbox 360.

Great location

Great place to be situated for any city centre events. Great gym for a hotel with the bonus of a pool, sauna etc. Will definitely use this place again.

issue that I have experienced was: This morning I had booked through your website ebookers.com, my booking had consisted of a superior double room with a queen size bed at the Novotel Cardiff city centre. When I had arrived at the hotel they stated that they had not received my booking although I had confirmation of this serveral hours earlier, which I showed to them. I then had to wait forty five minutes as they were apparently trying to solve the problem. This was very inconvenient as the hotel was a surprise for my girlfriends birthday and by this time we had missed our table booking at a restaurant that we would have to travel to. After waiting and having to forward my confirmation over to the receptionist they came back explaining that they had a room. We then got to our room and saw that it was a twin bedded disability access room which had two single beds, this is far from what I had booked and paid for. As a hotel receptionist myself I know that I should have been given an equal or better room to what I had booked, not under any circumstances do I justify this equal nor fair. We then went back to reception and notified the team that this wasn't acceptable and what we had booked she then told us that they were fully booked and would have to move us hotels which was inconvenient for us as this would be missing a big part out of the day. I seriously do not consider this room worth the value for money, furthermore knowing my rights it should have been equal or better. I w
