Car parking is a nightmare as car park always seems to be full with people driving around looking for space. Rooms are a bit tired looking and it is hit and miss as to whether you get air conditioning or not. Bathroom smelled damp, probably because you couldn't help but flood the floor when showering as the screen didn't seem to seal properly. Electrical wall sockets did not work and one of the cups in the room had not been washed and was covered in tea stains. Bed and pillows were comfortable on a positive note. Restaurant food is good but breakfast not so great. I would stay there again but it wouldn't be my first choice as there is much room for improvement.

Pleasant environment and good facilities. Restaurant food is good, breakfast is adequate but not the best. Rooms pleasant but noisy with aircraft going over at all hours. I choose hotels from ebookers that list air conditioning which this hotel did, but my room WAS NOT air conditioned and just had a fan provided - Not good when this was one of my primary reasons for choosing this hotel.

On arrival, the reception staff were not welcoming, just robotic, no hello etc or anything. My partner went to use the gym facilities, and was told there was a £1.75 charge for the towel, ridiculous. At 19.00, we went to use Starbucks, it was closed, although half the lights were on, no signs, just a stack of unused food in a yellow basket at the entrance. The noise from an adjoining room was horrendous, at one point there must have been at least 5 people in there, followed I'm afraid by two people quite loudly and obviously having sex. I would expect Village hotels to have a reasonable amount of sound proofing.

Hated the impersonal DIY check-in/check-out system. The staff were unfriendly and surly with a couldn’t care less attitude. The hotel’s decor is tired and the rooms are dark and unwelcoming.

Not the best

The room was reasonable and the bed fairly firm and comfortable. Unfortunately the couple next to us were having a fight in the early hours and it transferred quite clearly through to our room so we didn't sleep well. We should have contacted front desk probably but instead just turned on the fan which drowned it out! The bathroom was badly designed - the shower screen wouldn't swing much as it was trapped between the bath handle and another bar therefore you had to squeeze into the bath through a gap of about a foot. Otherwise the hotel seems to have been designed to have minimal contact with staff - electronic check-in etc but it didn't work. Also, the bar was very expensive. I think there are better and cheaper hotels nearby.
