Brush up on flights to Benidorm

Not so long ago Benidorm was just a small fishing village, yet today this Mediterranean coastal city in the heart of the Costa Blanca is a buzzing holiday resort full of skyscrapers and sun worshippers. Situated in the province of Alicante in southeast Spain, Benidorm offers visitors the chance to enjoy an outdoor lifestyle all year round – whether you’re strolling along the promenade on Playa Levante beach, exploring the old town’s maze of narrow streets, visiting a local theme park, playing a game of golf or simply basking in the sun on one of its famous golden beaches. The vast majority of flights to Benidorm land at nearby Alicante–Elche Airport, which serves as the gateway to the Costa Blanca resort region.

When’s the best time to find cheap flights to Benidorm?

Benidorm, with its year-round mild, sunny climate, is a great destination for a last-minute weekend break or an all-inclusive package holiday. Summer is the best time to hit the blue-flag beaches and take in a theme park. The Benidorm Low Festival, a 3-day rock and indie pop music festival, takes place in late July, while in November you can join in the celebrations for Benidorm Fiesta Week, which culminates in a spectacular fireworks display. Given that this is a beloved destination for British holidaymakers, prices tend to rise in the summer months, so book in advance to get the best deals. For top bargains on cheap tickets to Benidorm, consider catching some winter sunshine in January or November.

How do I get to Benidorm from the UK?

Getting from the airport to Benidorm city centre

Benidorm is about 37 miles from Alicante–Elche Airport, and if you book an all-inclusive package holiday, airport transfers will most likely be included. Otherwise, there are a number of options to make the journey as stress-free as possible. Taxis are readily available, but as the 45-minute journey costs around €75, they’re not the most economical option. Pre-booking a private or shared shuttle bus will work out much cheaper than taking a cab. There is also a public bus service that runs from the airport to Benidorm and costs about €10 one-way. Car rental is also available and may be a good option if you plan to explore the region.

A splash of adventure near Benidorm

For a fun day trip, head to the outskirts of nearby Callosa d'en Sarria village to visit the Fonts de l’Algar waterfalls. As well as admiring the spectacular cascades you can also dive off them – if you’re prepared to brave the bracing water below.
