Good picture but don't stay here

Pros: good gym
Cons: hot water, coffee, toilet rolls would be nice instead of squares!
Location: lots to do in town and not far to walk to
hotel looked on to the car park and lots of one way streets so not easy to see how to get to the actual parking place! We were told when we complained about the lack of hot water that we couldn't expect to all have hot water at the same time! We were served instant coffee at breakfast as it wasn't possible to provide filter coffee due to the volume of guests?!

Lovely hotel with great facilities

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Split in two with the canal running in between. So some rooms overlook the canal (ours did) which was lovely. We traveled with 2 children and used the pool at the gym attached to the hotel. All the staff were lovely. Provided us with a family changing room which was fantastic. Easy access from the gym back to our room. The breakfast was also very nice. Only negative comment I would say is that we booked and paid for a business room with a king size bed and upon arrival were given a room with a double bed. Asked the staff at the front desk who simply told us that was a king size room. Definitely wasn't but didn't want it to ruin our stay so just let it go. So just don't expect a king size bed in your room as apparently there aren't any!

Xmas in Chester

Location: Lovely Xmas markets and if you have time jump on the train and visit Liverpool for the day.
Decided to visit Chester for the Xmas markets and choose the Mill Hotel and Spa for our 5 night stay. Excellent choice. Located just a stroll along the canal away from Chester and the main attractions. Our room was large with a massive Florida style bed. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, (a good English style breakfast) to set you up for the day. Never had an evening meal as they had the Xmas menu on and I'm not a great lover of turkey and tinsel but must say it was well attended every evening. The bar had lots of local real ales and if cocktails are your thing they have a selection of these potent drinks. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
