The Hotel is old...But....very clean..Comfortable ..Staff helpful...I use many times
Great hotel, spacious rooms and one can access the Symphony Hall through the lift without exiting the hotel which is very practical. I also enjoyed the food at the hotel’s pub.
Very friendly staff on arrival - made to feel very welcome. Room was very comfortable with great views of the city. Bathroom a little dated. Overall, highly recommended.
Ideal location.Room & Hotel clean and staff friendly. Excellent breakfast with good choice of continental or full english.
Located in Birmingham, England, Corporation Street is the premiere shopping thoroughfare in the city centre. Initially, 600 former slum buildings and 180,000 square metres were purchased during the early planning phases under the Artisan's and Labourers' Dwellings Improvement Act of 1875. In 1878, demolition of these derelict buildings began. Corporation Street houses some important Victorian buildings, including Methodist Centre Hall, the Victoria Law Courts, and a number of buildings near New Street. The County Court was built in 1882 based on a design by James Williamson. It is a late example of the Italian palazzo style.
Beginning in 2012, much of Corporation Street is pedestrian-use only. This allows for leisurely and safer visits to this bustling area. Beginning in 2015 it will be served by its own tram stop to further eliminate traffic and improve accessibility. Shopping is the order of the day on Corporation Street, with retailers including House of Fraser and numerous outstanding restaurants. Additional sights in Birmingham can round out your day when you’ve had enough shopping.
When visiting Corporate Street in Birmingham, there’s much to see and do. You don’t want to be spending undue time catching trains or worrying about transport about the city centre. Booking accommodations through Ebookers assures you a nearby hotel that suits your particular needs, whether on a business or pleasure visit to Corporate Street.
