Check in was very slow and they appearred to be understaffed. Requested a room with a travel cot, but ended up being given a disabled access room without a travel cot and a broken bathroom door which would not close. This resulted in a considerable lack of privacy as well as the bright light coming from the bathroom not helping when trying to get our four month old baby to sleep. A poor standard of room and not up to the usual quality of Ibis hotels.

Thank you for staying here at the Ibis Gatwick and taking the time to post your feedback. Depending on the time of day you travel the shuttle bus can reach the airport terminal in 12 minutes. If guests take a taxi then the airport can be reached in less time.

Thank you for your feedback. It is disappointing that you chose to post your feedback here rather than directly with the hotel in the first instance, however, I appreciate the opportunity to address some of your points. First of all it is very unusual for us to get feedback stating that our beds are uncomfortable so we will have to accept this as a matter of opinion. Undrinkable tap water, I'm really not sure what we are expected to do about this but please note we sell mineral water at the bar. This is the first time since I joined the hotel that a guest has pointed out that we have undrinkable tap water. Please note there is a good size waste bin in the bathroom. You have also mentioned unhelpful staff but have failed to elaborate further so I am unsure how to respond to this but please feel free to contact me as I would be happy to discuss further. Thank you for staying at the Ibis Gatwick and I'm sorry to read you did not have a comfortable stay with us.

IBIS is good value accommodation, staff very friendly and helpful, obviously happy in their work place, food we had was reasonably priced and very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay thank you.

Close to North terminal airport and shuttle bus is £3 per person each way. Cups were not washed. Pillows were too hard as if you are sleeping on a brick. Carpet in the hallway looks tired

hotel in need of renewal

Pros: the location
Cons: the best aspect was the bed but the décor needs freshening up. I understand that this will take place soon.
Location: not far from Gatwick airport. airport shuttle very convenient.
an old hotel, clearly a busy one. but still needs a facelift.
