The hotel requires some serious upgrading

Pros: The staff were friendly and accommodating
Cons: Redecorate, replace the mattresses and pillows
Location: A great Thai restaurant in Horley, The White Lotus.
The hotel requires some serious upgrading, the mattress and pillows in the room were old, incredibly uncomfortable and certainly not fit for purpose, the cleanliness and appearance of the bathroom was also poor. The hotel and grounds unfortunately display an impression of being shabby and unkempt. Due to the appearance of the hotel we chose not to eat in the hotel restaurant, but instead found a great Thai restaurant locally in Horley - The White Lotus, which is well worth a visit. The hotel staff were though very friendly and accommodating

Bad

The hotel might have been ok 10 years ago but feels like it hasn't been decorated or cleaned since! The reception lady who serves breakfast is genuinely the rudest person I have ever met - I will not be returning!

Very quiet location, lovely place!

Pros: The kind staff and the included breakfast.
Cons: Can't think of anything I'd change.
Location: You need a car but it's very close to Crawley and Gatwick with the feeling of being in deep countryside
Very quiet location, surrounded by trees as if in the countryside. The only person I came across was a lady who was the receptionist and served the breakfast. She was accommodating, responsive, attentive to me and kind. You couldn't ask for more. When I asked what time check out was, she told me but immediately looked at arranging her logistics in order to push that forward as late as possible. The rooms weren't as new as the chain hotels but I found that comforting, as we were in what seemed to be an old manor house. The were clean and had all the facilities. It wasn't a sterile environment but hd character.
