I only needed somewhere basic to stay whilst I sat exams at CAA Gatwick. This hotel doesn't take payments using a card machine, it feeds them through a web portal. I had hoped to pay with my phone. After paying online, the hotel insisted it hadn't gone through (and the portal was unclear). My bank app clearly showed a payment, but the hotel insisted I "try again". The following day, I was locked out of my room and still they insisted I "try again" to pay. So I paid twice. No receipt, no invoice. Please, invest in a card terminal. The hotel is basic, tired-looking, it's fine as a cheap stay but prepare to be charged double and wait for your money-back. I wanted a stress-free stay to assist with my exams - instead I was fretting over payments. Avoid.

Room was clean however half eaten meal from previous guest left in the fridge. Also shelf on wardrobe was completely broken. Stayed for 2 nights and no sign of room being cleaned considering the price I thought at least bed would be made. Considering not long ago renovated the bedroom walls were full of cracks .

Firstly we were moved from the hotel booked to a sister. The outside looks the pits with broken concrete, weeds and long grass. When we initially walked in we had to ask if it was open. The room however was lovely and big. Very clean with fridge, microwave, kettle & TV. A quick shop at the supermarket and we had no reason to leave except for a walk to the town, 2mi away. On the whole don’t be put off by the dilapidated look outside. The room was spotless and heating worked well. Lastly pls do not accept bookings on a hotel that it closed.
