Dont let the image fool you, very mediocre

Rude hotel manager didn't handle my complaints with any degree of sympathy or care towards me. I was made to walk 3x the length of the hotel when my card didn't work, and they tried to fob me off about it being wiped by my phone (despite trying my best to get the card to wipe the morning after I couldn't replicate it - and my original check in had a different room number so obviously they programmed the key for the wrong room). On top of that, the toilet was running all night, the bed was uncomfortable, you don't get any bottles of water in the room and the beds don't have nearby power sockets. I feel this hotel cuts corners and doesn't try to live up to it's glamorous image.

Crewe Hall - Old but good. Staff are friendly

The location is great. The main residence has alot of character and the rooms are big and tidy. If you want modern you might want to ask for the modern side. If you want character and good service stay in the old part. Staff were great.

    • Disliked: Staff & service

Stayed in the old part of the hotel on Saturday 9th November. It was very cold as they insisted on keeping all of the doors open throughout the hotel. People having afternoon tea had coats and scarfs on. Had a treatment in the spa which was very good but not the treatment I booked originally so cost more. Also used the pool area but the steam room was out of action but no one mentioned this to us prior to us going in. Had lunch and breakfast in the Brasserie but was really disappointed as the service was non existent. The staff walked round not doing anything with empty tables left with dirty plates. Our lunch bill was then added twice to our room bill so we had to get reception to remove this when we checked out. The food for lunch was ok but breakfast was poor. Stunning location but staff let it down so will not be returning.
