The building has seen better days. Spent our honeymoon here in 1976 and it has hardly changed. Lounges and restaurant are excellent and very comfortable. Rooms need some tlc. Hotel in a great position for visiting Keswick. The food is fantastic, more like 5 star than 3 star. New menu every day and a great choice for all courses. Service , choice and prices in the bar all top notch. I am happy to overlook a few housekeeping issues particularly during the Covid-19 times. We will definitely be back before too long.

The hotel is in a great location, being an easy 8 minute walk into Keswick town centre. The public areas of the hotel are acceptable, particularly the bar and restaurant areas, however our room (119) was off a dingy corridor that could definitely do with some attention. Rooms 111 - 120 were along this corridor. The room itself was quite large with a Super Kingsize bed. The bathroom was tiny and could do with some attention (sealant around bath needed replacing) but the shower was hot and powerful and the bath filled quickly. It was fine for a few days but not for a long stay. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant staff were delightful. The food was freshly prepared, plentiful and cooked to order. Compliments to the kitchen staff. Overall it was a good stay for 4 nights.

Beautiful hotel we arrived just as they were putting Xmas trees and decorations up. By the end of the day it was all done and the hotel was transformed into Xmas wonderland. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. We were half board breakfast was buffet style, evening meal was three ample courses from menu of at least 5 choices of each course. Hotel was in its own grounds with its own car park. Only 5 min.walk from the centre of Keswick. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay at Keswick.

Keswick break

Pros: Good location, within easy walking distance of the centre. Decor and overall ambience.
Cons: Hot breakfast was buffet style, would have preferred freshly cooked.
Booked the Keswick Country House Hotel for a weekend break to attend the Christmas Fairs. Hotel was very busy on arrival as they had a luncheon function on, so car park was full. Easily remedied by the staff, we could park on the approach road, which was pay & display, but they provided a pass. Hotel was very nice all Victorian splendour and decorated for Christmas, creating a lovely feel.

Another very pleasant stay

Pros: Easy parking, high standard of evening meal, comfort and quiet position are all good selling points of the hotel.
Cons: Window tableswere only given to early evening diners. Room 207 was not as good as previous rooms and we were not told about the lack of a bath.
Location: Peaceful location close to Fitz Park.
This was our sixth stay at the hotel which speaks for itself. Although our superior room was smaller than ones in previous visits and there was only a small shower room - no bath which disappointingly we hadn't been informed of, the hotel comfort, excellent evening meal, peaceful location and easy parking hadn't changed and we will continue to stay here in the future.
