The hotel condition is a bit old but the staff is very friendly and helpful. It was not the best Novotel I have ever stayed but generally speaking it is good for the value of money.

Fab time

Lovely hotel our room was excellent. Only thing i could say negative is to put two pillows on bed for each person.

Modern hotel

Very close to J25 M1 so a convenient overnight stop. The hotel is modern and clean with good sized bedrooms and excellent en suite facilities. My only point of concern is the price of the continental breakfast at £13.95.

Much better after the re-furbishment

Pros: The overall quality of the rooms.
Cons: There was re-furbishment taking place to the ground floor which woke my family up the following morning.
Location: Nottingham, close to Robin Hoood country and the Derbyshire.
The room was recently been re-furbished to a high standard. This has made a massive difference to the overall look and feel of the rooms. They now come with extras such as a fridge and USB / HDMI tv sockets. These are elements that you do not get in other "budget" hotels.

Average hotel

We stayed here for three nights. It is 20 minutes drive to city centre but could take more durig rush hour. The hotel need updating which I gather they have started doing. The staff are welcoming and helpful.

Quiet, convenient, value

Although the strong tobacco-smoke smell in the first floor corridor made us a little concerned, once in the room we were pleasantly surprised by the smoke-free environment, the room size and its quietness - which was good because we needed a good night's sleep.

Good, with potential

A good example of a chain hotel. Clean, efficiently run, staff very professional. Easy access from the motorway. Good buffet breakfast. My main gripe is the lack of lighting in the bedrooms. Mine had no centre light, and no bedside lights, so I couldn't read sitting up in bed -- you could only read sitting up at the desk. And the lift wasn't working while I was there, but I guess that's just bad luck.....

Business stopover

Stayed a single night the front reception bar and conference facility's are all very well presented. However once you leave the reception area to the rooms it's a very different story carpets are clean but well used. And the artex walls and ceilings belong in a 1980's council house the room itself is the same. Not the cleanest but that's more down to age of the carpets and fixtures bed was clean and comfortable and slept well staff where very polite and of good appearance. Hotel rooms simply need updating
