Heating didn’t work. Provided us with a portable heater which was great. Promised to have this repaired but this didn’t happen.

The staff are what make this hotel they can’t do enough for you they are so welcoming. This was my second stay at The Castle and they have renovated some of the hotel but some areas are still a bit dated. This however does not take away from the cleanliness and excellent standard this hotel provides. The restaurant and bar staff are excellent great Irish wit and charm and the hotel reception staff are very professional and on hand 24/7 excellent stay really enjoyed ourselves. For the money we paid for the weekend I would highly recommend The Castle Hotel to anyone looking for a nice hotel that’s not in the middle of all nightlife but only a ten minute walk away.

In the centre of town, very handy for transport.

Pros: Everything.
Cons: Not a lot as it would change the Character of hotel. Lift broke down when we were there but it was soon mended.
Location: Very near bus stops for local & the Hop on hop off bus( which includes transport to & from the airport) Plenty of museums & art gallery.
Very pleasant hotel with good location. Tired in places but this only adds to the quirkiness of the hotel. It must have been a grand hotel in its time with lots of character. You can just imagine all the meeting going on there with all the great Irish writers. They have a cellar bar with Irish music 4/5 nights a week. Irish Breakfast in The music room was hot & plentiful. All in all, a very good experience. Would certainly book again.

Lovely hotel near Temple Bar Area

The hotel really exceeded my expectations in all ways. I arrived there to stay for a few nights and had booked a single room. I was really impressed with the size of the single room and it had a double bed! It was very clean with all the mod cons ie. TV, kettle and coffee facilities. The room was cleaned to a high spec daily with towels replaced. There are so many different lounge areas which are very pleasant with character. The restaurant and bar area is lovely and the live singer was very good. I was impressed by the foot in the restaurant and very impressed with the standard of cooked breakfast. I would highly recommend anyone to stay there and would definitely stay there again.
