Lovely hotel, opposite the 3arens

We chose the Gibson because it is close to the 3arena (under a minute’s walk) and next to a Luas stop, making travelling into the city easy. The hotel is modern and minimalist, with lots of uncluttered space, and our classic room was spacious with nice touches, good mirrors and lighting. I really loved the simple Xmas decorations. The breakfast was very good value at 13e (avoid Bewleys) and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only negative was that the seal in the shower door leaked so the bathroom was always awash.

Great Hotel.

This hotel was lovely, from check in to check out nothing was too much trouble for the staff, room was spacious and modern but my favourite part was the bathroom, a massive walk-in shower, lovely. Tram stop right outside the hotel, so easy to get into the centre of Dublin and back at night.

Complimentary upgrade

The hotel kindly gave us a complimentary upgrade to an executive room with a balcony and gave my husband a lovely birthday card and desert plate when I mentioned it was his birthday. Really made for a lovely weekend away.

Staff were greatl but not so the hotel....

Pros: Proximity to 3Arena
Cons: General atmosphere
Location: 3Arena...
Staff were great, location of the hotel to the 3Arena was perfect but the hotel itself resembled an airport & they insisted in setting up cordons to manage the (small) queue at reception & again in the bar that night ! There was no need for it. Hotel is devoid of any atmosphere. Bedrooms were without fault though - clean & fine size bathroom.

Dear Anthony, I'm sorry to see that despite our faultless rooms, great staff and perfect location the gibson scored so lowly with you. In our experience we do find it necessary for ease of service and fairness to all our guests that queue management on show nights works best. It really helps us to speed up the service on busy nights and prevent customers getting upset when people skip the queue. I'm sorry that you felt there was no atmosphere despite the buzz around the lobby and bar but we really hope to welcome you back another time. Kind regards, Clare

Nice Hotel, but far from city

Good room price, but at 30 euros breakfast if prebooked or 60 euros if you pay in the morning, it is a rip off. If you are going to the arena or has a meeting in the area then hotel location is fine, but if you are looking to explore Dublin, then the hotel is a bit far away.

Hi Ronald, Thank you for reviewing your stay. Our breakfast is proved at €13 per person if booked in advance or €16 per person if you decide to have breakfast on the day. I am unsure how many were in your party so if this is something you want to check back with me on please do get in touch. Kind regards, Clare

Nice Modern Hotel

Pros: Very spacious and modern
Location: The location is great you can walk to O'Connell street in 10 minutes and the tram stops right outside the hotel also.
Close to the city centre this Hotel is Modern. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. Our room had a private balcony. The hotel staff were very friendly. There are taxis outside the hotel and costs approx 8-10 euros to go over to the Temple Bar Area. It has a large dinning room and a good sized bar on the 3rd floor. Room has a fridge and safe, complimentary toiletries, and bottles of water. I would recommend this hotel

Modern, comfortable, clean. Ideal for what we wanted from our weekend in Dublin, which was to chill out, see a few sights and go for a few drinks Very handy that the luas stops outside the door.

Excellent, relaxing stay

Went to the Gibson for 1 night as a treat after a busy period working long hours. It didn't disappoint, had a lovely relaxing stay....attentive staff, pleasant modern surroundings.....easy to find and right beside the Luas, so handy for accessing central Dublin.....will be back for sure!!

Great Place to Stay

Pros: Modern, clean and well placed for all transport.
Cons: It would have been nice if the receptionists had been more welcoming and friendly instead of just efficient.
Location: The local renovation with its marvellous creative architecture. The sculpture for the Great Famine and the EPIC Museum where you need 3 hours minimum
The hotel is situated in the dockland area, much of which has been beautifully renovated. The Gibson is close to public transport, the stop for the airport bus and the tram - it is also a pleasant 20 minute walk alongside the River Liffey to O'Connell Street. The hotel itself is a modern glass and metal building - the reception area is spacious with 3 or 4 receptionists on duty. The rooms are large, modern, very clean, and our window looked out onto a calming Zen-type garden. Breakfast is 13 Euro pp but the self-service selection of both hot and cold food was good and plentiful. There were also coffee and tea facilities in the room. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it highly.
