Recommended

Pros: Location, pool by the sea and easy swimming access to the sea. Drinks by the pool, View is lovely from the sea view rooms and rooms are comfortable.
Cons: It was very hot when we were there in August and the air conditioning is rather old and feeble.
Location: Easy access to the old city of Dubrovnik entering by the old port, where boat trips to nearby islands are available. lots of places to eat nearby.
Lovely hotel with a great location just outside the old town and with a wonderful position by the sea. It is large but manages to absorb guests so that you don't feel overcrowded. Drinks and food in the hotel are very expensive although that is to be expected at the height of holiday season.

Five Star Location

Best way I can describe this hotel is five star location with three star service. It is beautifully situated with stunning views of the sea and within easy walking distance of the old town with all its charm. The rooms were quite small and very basic but very clean and we did not get the sea view that we had requested. When we broached this with the reception staff they were unsympathetic in general and one staff member Josip was extremely rude. We also encountered a very rude waiter who took exception to being asked if we could have regular tea instead of Darjeeling tea. This was in contrast to the lovely Rozica who had a smile for everybody and could not do enough to help. The indoor pool area was closed for three days during our stay which we were told was because the pool was being cleaned. The stairs leading to the spa area flooded during heavy rain and there were wet towels on the floor for two days. So to sum up you wont get better in terms of location but this is not five star standard by any stretch of the imagination but closer to a good three star in terms of accommodation and much less in terms of customer care. As for Dubrovnik, what a wonderful city will definitely come back again but not to this hotel.

Fabulous location, beautiful hotel

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Beautiful gardens, amazing views from the pool and terraces. Having breakfast on the terrace every morning and enjoying the sunshine was a highlight. The indoor pool and spa facilities were also very good. Overall, I would happily stay at the Grand Villa Argentina again.

Fantastic city break

This hotel had everything we needed for our stay,friendly staff,clean comfortable rooms,good food,stunning views and within 10minuets walking distance of old Dubrovnik town.we stayed for 4 nights to celebrate our 50th birthdays a Holliday we will remember for a long time,perfect.

most relaxing holiday

I cant recommend this hotel highly enough, it's the epitomy of wonderful service, excellent location and stunning views. It's not a cheap hoteo but if you want to treat yourself and pamper the one you love, this is the hotel for you.

Late October stay

Arrived after 11pm and hotel provided sandwiches and tea even though kitchen closed. throughout stay staff could not have been more helpful and professional, providing doggy bags for very early 5am breakfast on day of departure and sorting out car transfer etc for airport. Fantastic sea view from room and facilities could not have been bettered. Overall a wonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend to anyone, although I understand in the high season you may get a room over the road away from the sea.

Croatia - 1st time

As this was our 1st time to Croatia, and during our anniversary, I was a little bit apprehensive. I need'nt have worried, we had a great time. The city of Dubrovnik is beautiful and the hotel was very conveniently located. The only real grumble was that some of the staff were a bit inattentive, but this wasn't limited to the hotel staff, some of the other public sector staff seemed to be keen for the tourist season to end.

Superb holiday

Great hotel in a fantastic location. Spacious gardens to escape to for some quiet time. We paid extra for a sea view room and were not disappointed - right opposite Lokrum Island. We did a boat trip to the Island - great day out but maybe flipflops were not the most appropriate footware (gravel paths) !. The hotel was about a leisurely 10 min walk to the city. We only had 2 meals in the hotel (one lunch and one evening) as we prefer to enjoy what is on offer in the locality, however what we did have in the hotel was very good. We did however have lots of drinks in the hotel, the best being pre-dinner cocktails (Happy Hour 6-9pm !) on the Victoria Terrace watching the sun set. We thought Dubrovnik was a very friendly and clean city and would have no hesitation in recommending the city or the hotel. We did take a bus trip down to the Lapad Peninsular and were really pleased that we had chosen to stay close to the old town and not in Lapad.
