Split seats on chair in room. Generally dirty: windows, corridors, sills.

This Hotel is rubbish, Dirty windows. Dust everywhere. Disgusting dirty bathroom. Stains and dirt everywhere not forgetting the pubic hair as a added extra to this pit...! Mold in bathroom. Needs up dating urgently. Carpet filthy. Pillows stained. No disability rooms available. Carpark to small, No spaces.

Executive room with sea view for 2 night

Pros: A hint of glamour from the past - long gone
Cons: update it and sack the cleaners
Location: great location, 5 minutes walk from the centre
Day 1. Room large, nice sea view but inside window rotten all over with very clear lips, hands & face stains on the inside. All room surfaces were coated with a thick layer of dust. Chairs & cushions tired & dirty, lamp shades frayed. Bathroom dirty, soap scum in soap holder, white stains (?) down back & front of door, water taps too powerful. Bath plug wouldn't open to drain water (old). After a long trip all we wanted to do was settle, watch a bit of tv & sleep. There was no internet and thus no t.v - all night. Day 2. Went to reception and complained, asked them to clean the room properly. No apology was received from the duty manager. Returned that eve, windows still dirty, white stain from inside removed but not outside, soap scum still there but room dusted. Clearly the hotel used to be majestic but not now, it needs serious updating, painting, improving and to sack the cleaners!

Very nice hotel

Pros: Rooms big and good views.
Cons: Better car park.
Location: Great location. Close to beach and beachy head.
The Cavendish is a good hotel. I like the location overlooking the sea and the bandstand. Sometimes the room got a bit hot but otherwise it was fine. Parking was not a problem but I suppose the car park could get full at busy times.

Lovely hotel, on seafront

My partner and I went to stay for three days the staff were friendly welcoming and very helpful, the room was clean tidy , some of the furniture was rather worn ,the place could do with refreshing and repairing , but the bed was so comfy , and placed so that we had a fantastic view of the sea , pier and bandstand there were complimentary tea coffe and bathroom. Toiletries , I enjoyed the bar food more than the restaurant dinner I had, which i found to be rather overpriced for the quality the roast potatoes were hard to cut as the skin was tough, as they had been kept a long time on a warming plate ,breakfast was a bit better still expensive at £12.50 but there was plenty to choose from I found the fried breakfast rather poor as the fried eggs were hard and rubbery and the bacon dry and some overcooked , but I can't fault the staff who worked hard to make sure visitors were happy, the bar food was more reasonably priced although the choice was limited, some of the seats on the chairs particularly the pink ones. Were dirty and stained , but on the whole a comfortable pleasant stay , I would like to add that my partner had a severe nose bleed on our first morning at 5am I called reception who called the emergency services for us, and supplied gauze pads and ice packs ,my partner was taken to hospital where he had to stay overnight , I'm disabled so I was grateful for the help given ,highly recommended for disabled visitors and able bodied ones too

Really nice hotel right by the town centre

Checked in at 4 and was easy finding the room. Only a 5 minute walk from town and was good considering i was using the hotel to stay in after my night out.
