Very poor condition in a basement room, spotlight fixed with cellotape, poor quality decorating, patches of unpainted wall, tiny television slanted on wall, shower door didn't shut and came off its hinges, springs in bed (changed after we complained). Overpriced and poor quality, well below expectations and very disappointing.

Nice hotel, pleasant staff

Pros: Clean, nice ensuite shower room, pleasant staff
Cons: Minor repairs to the wall in our room, and the bedside light emitted a buzz and a vibration. It wasn't loud, but a bit strange.
Location: Ten minutes to the cinema and restaurants, twenty to the centre of Edinburgh with all its sights and sites eg the Scot Monument, Edinburgh Castle, etc
This is a nice hotel. Close to the bus stops to get into town (otherwise a twenty minute walk). The staff are very pleasant, the room is clean and accessories are acceptable. Breakfast covers all the usual cereals, yoghurts etc, but if you want your porridge before your cooked breakfast you will have to ask, as it always arrives after and is a very large bowlful.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Haben sehr viel Hilfsbereitschaft erfahren. Gute Lage zu Fuß in ca. 20 Minuten mitten im Zentrum und zwei Busse fahren (wenn man will) direkt in die Stadt alle 10 Minuten. Zimmer waren groß und sauber. Frühstück war ausreichend. Zwar jeden Morgen das selbe aber man konnte individuell dazu bestellen. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Nice and clean guesthouse

Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The reception was almost always closed and one time receptionist didn't came at all. The door and the lock of the room were quite unsafe, and noise from the stairs came to rooms.
