Hotel a bit tired but OK location

Pros: Location opposite Haymarket train station.
Cons: Tired décor needs refreshing. Room service meal should have been hot but was cold by the time I received it,.
Location: Location opposite Haymarket train station. Easy walk to Princes Street
I stayed in the townhouse annex of the hotel, across the road from main reception. Not sure where the food comes from but my room service order was very cold by the time it reached me in my room. The hotel was OK for one night but it is pretty tired. Good location opposite Haymarket train station.

Leisure trip

Wasn't the standard expected from a 4 star Hilton. Rooms were dated and in need of an update. Dirty carpet and dampness on ceiling. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall an average hotel.

A february weekend in Edinburgh

I arrived later than expected but I was received by friendly attentive staff. Checking in was quick and my room was easy to find. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my twin room as previous reviews have not been so positive. It had all that I would expect of a Hilton Hotel but no more. Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice on offer each morning. Again the staff were helpful and the whole atmosphere was relaxing and unrushed. Checking out presented no difficulties. I would stay at this hotel again. Hassle free.

The good and bad

We stayed for 1 night in Hilton Edinburgh grosvenor cause of the half price offer, good location, excellent breakfast and clean room. Our room in the club wing however was very small, with old fashioned room facilities. The shower was very weak, windows were not double glazed, so could feel wind draft. Overall we were disappointed, our room was more like a 3 star than 4 star. This is the worst Hilton i've stayed. The club wing is being renovated, so the hotel should not rent the club wing rooms till rooms being moderised, even for people paying offer rates, as the rooms in the club wing is not reflected in the pictures. I think equal rate-rooms in the main block opposite the road is much nicer.

Mukava kaupunkiloma
