Hotel is in a good location for exploring Edinburgh and the local area being situated close to Haymarket. Bed was not the comfiest and we had issues with leaking pipes or bath which resulted in areas of the carpet in the room being saturated with water. Issue was resolved but tainted our stay. On the whole a decent hotel, staff very friendly but maybe not worth the room price.

Got a good deal price-wise on this Leonardo hotel. Just before easing, so bar and restaurant still shut, which wasn't entirely clear on website, but fine. The hotel is a bit of a walk from attractions, but still reasonably located. £8 a day parking which is fair for Edinburgh. CCTV in car park etc so seems safe. Staff all quite nice and helpful. Hotel itself again was fine, clean, and pleasant decor etc... Rooms had all necessary amenities.. tea facilities, iron, hairdryer, TV, fridge. So all good. Our only complaint would be the mattresses. Rock hard. Like no hotel we've stayed in before. Pillows sub standard too. Got extra duvets and pillows from helpful reception staff to try and ease the pain for our 2nd night. Someone made a big mistake with the beds. A shame. But enough to make us not stay again, despite being a pretty decent hotel.

I know that a lot of our guests love our beds but I totally understand they don't suit everyone and I'm so sorry you struggled with them. I'm glad we were able to help a bit for your second night (I think it was actually myself you might have spoken to about it) but I know how important a good night's sleep is! Thank you again

The reception staff tried to trick me into a smaller room. I ordered a King Size room and was given a double sized bed. The receptionist was arguing that the double sized bed was 2 single beds together and was therefore equivalent to a king bed. I argued this was not the case as width of the bed was clearer smaller than a king sized bed. I did not enjoy have to move room and argue with a receptionist upon arrival, it soured the experience. I did not like the attempted trickery.
