The hotel is lovely. Clean and tidy. Well presented and modern. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was the toilet didn’t work in the en suite. It wasn’t fixed until the following day so we had no loo to use. It was clearly broken when we entered the room so it should have been picked up on by the housekeepers. However, the price of our room was adjusted and the manager did apologise. I would happily stay here again as everything else was really nice. The location is perfect too.

Nice Hotel, very clean, a very big room and bathroom

A very clean well presented room that was much smaller than expected. The bathroom was microscopic and difficult to move in. The staff were outstanding and very friendly. We did eat in the restaurant one night. Overall I would say the hotel is overpriced for what you get.

Nice hotel spoilt by terrible breakfast

Good comfortable room but, very badly let down by really bad experience every day at breakfast!!! Coming down to breakfast at 8-30am and finding already running out of breakfast items and when querying told there was no more is unacceptable!!! The standard of the cooked breakfast was far below what should be acceptable often lukewarm and un appetising!!!! Not once did any staff even apologise. This hotel has a lot going for it but, unfortunately badly let down by its catering!!!!!!

High potential but felt let down

Pros: Staff and service
Cons: can you update the website to show the smallest rooms at an angle that better shows the size
Location: The hotel is a stones throw from Murrayfield rugby stadium and Ice rink
We booked the Murrayfield for a weekend stay as we liked what we saw from the website. Please note the room rate did not include breakfast. The biggest disapointment was our room, it was so small that only one person could move around while the other had to sit on the bed. The bathroom which was very clean had nowhere to hang your clothes, so you had to undress in the small room with only one tiny chair for you to lay your clothes, failing that you could undress and hang your clothes in the wardrobe. Tea and coffee facilites were also stored in the wardobe as there was no room for them on the small shelf that contained the hotel information booklets etc, On the plus side, the food was of a high standard as was the service. it was fairly pricey though. On Friday / Saturday night there was live entertainment which was also very good. The Bar was well stocked and very reasonably priced.

Staff group booking

Fab hotel . Booked as a group for staff night out . No tea making facilities or kettle in our room although everyone else's room had them . Over all very good location and spotlessly clean . Beds very comfortable . Would use again

3 night stay

Room was clean. Very small. Had a meal in hotel food ok staff friendly Breakfast ok Bar staff could do with relaxing a bit and converse with customers. Went in to bar on two nights -no one in it except myself. Leak from radiator in hallway upstairs -a big stain on carpet.

smart booking

Good value for money. Great location, 30min walk from the center or a 10min ride by bus, and 45min to Portobello seaside. Staff very helpful, room cleaned every day. Quiet room even if we were sat just above the bar and at the front. The bed was amazing, i love the mattress and the comfy pillows. Recommend
