Hotel was in the middst of everything and therefore quite convenient. Rooms was clean and quite modern. We stayed four nights and were happy with our choice. Only negative point was, the windows didn’t shut properly due to aging, so heating needed to run constantly to keep the room warm.

nice hotel

Pros: Location and quietness
Cons: Breakfast could be cheaper, and also toiletries replenished second night
Location: Across the road from the theatre. An easy walk to the station, also Royal Mile and New Town. In fact most places are walkable from here.
We like this hotel for it's location. Also it is really quiet for sleeping, although the windows are only single glazed. Only problem is if you stay 2 nights they don't replenish the toiletries the second night! Breakfast is way overpriced at £14.95, plenty of options outside.

Overnight stay with friend for shopping.

Pros: Liked the location, staff, and accommodation.
Cons: Feel the breakfast could be priced more reasonably. Also the bar was not only very expensive but did not offer a cocktail menu.
Location: Good restaurants theatre and pubs. Also the Royal mile university campus children's museum etc. Shops princes street etc all within easy walking dista
It was a very nice hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. The standard of cleanliness was excellent. It was situated in a very good location for all the necessary places of interest we wanted to see. The only criticism would be that the breakfast and drinks were very expensive. The accommodation was very reasonably priced for the standard and location of the hotel would stay again if in Edinburgh.

Beware the hidden charges

This hotel was ok. Overpriced I'd say. The rooms were comfortable enough and the location is good but the staff are all young and don't care. One girl was nice and helpful but the guys working there look like they'd rather be at the dentists. The worse thing about it was they tried to charge me £30 for two day's parking in the hotel car park, which if you can get in you'll be lucky. I wouldn't have minded but nobody told me I'd have to pay to park there so I refused.

Hogmanay 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights over the Hogmanay period, the hotel was perfect 10 mins walk from the train station, less than 10 mins to the Royal mile. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent value at £8 pp if you booked it the night before, it was very clean and tidy, and it was a quiet location just off the main road. We will be going back to this hotel in the summer.

Comfortable, idealy located hotel

We really enjoyed staying in this hotel which we found attractive with good size well furnished room. Very comfortable beds and bathroom a good size without the awful noise of an extractor fan which we often experience in other hotels. The staff were very helpful and met our request for a change of double room to twin without hesitation. Breakfasts were excellent with great variety and well presented. Location was perfect for walking to most of the places of interest and good bus service for further afield visits. Situated in a fairly quiet street, just off Nicholson street, which is very busy, made for peaceful sleep. We found the Castle interesting and loved the views from there. The Royal yacht Britannia was a treat and the City Museum in Chamber Street wonderful. Would certainly stay at this hotel again when we return to Edinburgh to explore further.

Super für ein Wochenende

Das Hotel ist sehr praktisch gelegen. Wenige Gehminuten vom Zentrum entfernt. Das Hotel ist sauber, gepflegt und das Personal ist zuvorkommend. Einzig das Frühstück könnte etwas abwechslungsreicher und ansprechender sein.
