National carrier Avianca operates direct flights to Colombia from London Heathrow to Bogotá, the main international gateway to the country, as well as in partnership with Iberia from London Gatwick via Madrid. Alternatively, Air France flies from Manchester via Paris Charles de Gaulle, KLM offers a stop in Amsterdam, and Lufthansa runs the route via Frankfurt. Once you arrive in Bogotá, consider taking an internal connecting flight to another airport such as Cali, Cartagena or Medellin to explore different parts of the country.
Bogotá Airport is Colombia’s busiest airport and is located around 10 miles from the centre of Bogotá. Hop in an authorised taxi, identified by their yellow and white colour scheme, for a quick and easy transfer direct to your destination, or book a private car to meet your flight. Alternatively, familiarise yourself with the city’s public transport from the get-go with a bus from the airport terminal to connect with the TransMilenio integrated rapid transport network.
