We have stayed at The Phoenica before and returned for Christmas 2019 and to see in 2020. As always we experienced a great hotel with fantastic staff. The location of the hotel to Valletta and all the facilities that it has to offer can not be beaten. Having the Christmas Market and associated activities was great and always made us smile when ever we went out. We dined in both restaurants as well as using the bar menu and the food was exceptional. The beef and horseradish sandwiches melted in the mouth, terrific. We had a great room on the 4th floor overlooking the gardens and harbour. My father always said after his visit in 1963 that The Phoenica was the best hotel in the world. I think it still is. Its full of old world charm traditional vales with caring staff and not the glitzy bland glass 5* modern hotels we find everywhere. Love it.
