Great hotel in the West End of Glasgow. Ideally placed for gigs at the Hydro as it is opposite it. Friendly reliable service from Glasgow cabs all around the city. The only downsides (which wouldn't put us off coming again was the curtain in our room would not shut fully as the rail it was on was too short so left about a quarter of the window uncovered. Anyone in the hydro car park would be able to see in (albeit across the road). Also took a while to book in as only one person on reception and even when another member of staff came along they were doing something else on the computer. Despite this I would recommend this hotel for cleanliness, friendliness of staff and location.

Cold room. No hot water.

Says it all really. No offer of compensation but offered a different room at 8.40 for a hot shower - we had to leave at 9 so little point.

Not bad

We booked the hotel last minute for a gig at King Tuts , this was only a 20min walk away so location excellent. The room was fine good shower and overall good. It was quiet too for a city. The car parking was a little confusing but have been assured as long as you leave through the barrier that you could park in the controlled area. The staff were pleasent, we would stay here again

Perfect for the SSE Arena

Pros: Close to the SSE Arena
Cons: More bar staff
Good overall but bar staff not so helpful when asked for crisps we were told to go to the receptionto get them despite crisp on show behind the bar

Eat somewhere else

Pros: Very handy for Hydro
Cons: Food in restaurant
Checking in was pretty straight forward though after booking about 6 months in advance was informed they never had a double room left only twin as they were very busy wasn’t a problem, just wanted to inform you that you might not get what you had booked. Eating in hotel did not actually happen booked for 6.30 informed them we needed to be out by 7.45 told that wouldn’t be a problem shown to table at 6.20 order taken promptly (reminded waiter we needed to be away by 7.45) starter arrived 7.10 chicken strips pink in centre, pate awful by 7.35 told waiter we would need to leave. Would not recommend eating in restaurant, would stay again in hotel as very handy for Hydro

Great for the hydro etc

Great base for a night. Rooms are a tad small for any longer (couple & child). Decent enough breakfast, good to have bar & food option. Right outside the hydro. Free parking (? As had disabled guest). Would definitely stay again. Keenly priced :-)

Hotel close to exhibition - good value for money

Pros: Good value for money. Staff very helpful.
Cons: Maybe variety of breakfast could be increased (fresh salad, vegetables).
Location: Exhibition. I didn't come so can't say anything about the area. Developing area.
Nice and clean hotel, close to exhibition area. Accessible to local transport which is needed to reach city centre. Clean rooms with friendly and helpful staff. Recommend for short stay.

Perfect for Hydro.

I've stayed at the Campanile a few times, when I was going to the Hydro/SECC. It takes any hassle, chance of travel delays, concern about missing last train, or parking problems out of the equation. Staying at The Campanile means I can relax and focus on enjoying shows, at little extra cost. Hotel is basic, very clean, very reasonably priced, handy for city centre, and (sorry to say again) ideal for Hydro. The staff are also helpful. The bar and buffet breakfast are reasonably priced too, considering the location. The Campanile isn't luxurious, but rooms are spacious, and clean. I can't think of anything it lacks, it has all that's necessary for a comfortable, stress free stay. I will stay again, and would recommend to anyone.
