Nice staff & fantastic breakfast. Nothing seemed too much from reception to waitresses at breakfast. Also perfect location as we were attending a concert at the Hydro.

Basic hotel

The room smelt damp and this was not surprising as the en suite had no ventilation. A small room but all that one would need. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Well positioned for visit to Glasgow

Pros: Well placed, just outside the city centre.
Cons: The Guest House offered me what I was looking for- comfortable bed and good breakfast close to the city centre so nothing comes to mind.
Location: Close to city centre. Good for visit to SEC. Next to Kelvin Hall.
Very happy with the hotel. Comfortable and clean. Offering a good breakfast. The Guest House is across the road from the main hotel where breakfast is served but this is not a problem. Staff were efficient and friendly.

Pics didn't match reality

Our biggest disappointment resulted from what we consider to be false advertising. On ebookers the pictures under Argyll guest house are from nice and modern looking rooms, but our room was nothing like them at all. There's the Argyll hotel on the opposite side of the road from the guest house, so our conclusion is that the pictures are actually from the hotel, not the guest house. The room itself is adequate for someone who doesn't care about the interior but wants only to crash for a couple of nights. However, there were random noises inside the room, such as water suddenly dripping in the bathroom, and the noises from other rooms and the common entrance hall were heard loud and clear. The room door didn't seem very secure as there was a clear gap between it and the door frame, so we didn't feel particularly safe. Also, a major discomfort was that the bed was too short for my companion, who is about 180 centimeters tall. The bed and pillows didn't feel really comfortable for me neither. Overall we are not saying that the place is horrible or impossible for staying, just bear in mind that you might get something else than what's in the pictures. Otherwise you might get left feeling scammed like we did.
