Nice hotel

Inexperienced staff on reception checking in and out was very slow short staffed at wedding reception staff looked very dressed public toilets had no toilet paper for most of the day possibly due to the sudden departure of the housekeeper the before the wedding

Buchanan arms in march

Nice wee hotel friendly down to earth staff will def stay again. Room was clean there was a large area to sit with the family and have a drink downstairs. Nicely decorated

Hotel clean and Friendly

Pros: Good pool public areas very clean and comfortable.
Cons: The mattress
Location: Nice location only a few miles from Balloch good pubs in area for meals out and a few drinks.
Rooms were a good size very clean well laid out only small problem i found was the edge of mattress very hard like something metal inside hurt my leg on it. overall a good place to stay good pool and spa area meals and Breakfast very good friendly staff.

Lovely hotel with fab rooms

We stayed in room 8. 2 adults and a 2 year old. The room was huge and very comfortable. The bed was so big and comfy you could get lost in it. Bathroom and room well equipped and very clean. Breakfast was included in our rate and brilliant although service was a little slow - we ordered 4 poached eggs which only 2 arrived well after we finished our breakfast. We also ate our evening meal in the hotel. Had it not been overdone, it would have been really nice. Ordered a side dish of veggies for my daughter and when they brought the food out they said it was on my plate. I wasn't happy about this as it not only mixed the veg with my sauce, but also the amount of veg on my plate was the same as on my husband's. They took this off the bill with no problem though so all good. All in all I would definitely recommend the hotel.

family getaway

The hotel is in a perfect place for a nice relaxing break. The staff were so friendly and hospitable. Rooms were average but, where clean. Food was very good and catered for everyone even kids. Pool was excellant and so was the Sauna, the Steam room was out of order when we were there. Had a hot stone massage and this was magnificent and so was Ailee who looked after me, felt soo relaxed. My husband had the hot towel shave and he loved it, he said afterwards that his face was as smooth as a babys bottom. would recommend it. We will be using it again in the future.

Another poor experience

Myself, wife and son have stayed at the Buchanan arms hotel about 5 times now because of its location and the spa facilities. However everything else about this hotel comes out negative. The reception and bar staff are generally miserable. The reception staff tend to ignore you even though they can see you waiting. On my last visit all I wanted to do was ask where my room was this was after a ten minute wait to be checked in and then she could not finish speaking with me quick enough, hence she forgot to tell me where my room was. However I am convinced it is weekend staff as i always check out on a Monday and the different staff are happy and helpful. The rooms have always been dirty, last visit there was empty biscuit packets on the floor and a lipstick and the bath had horrible hairs all over it. The food however in the restaurant was good every time but expensive for what you get. Not worth paying full price for this place £90+, but book in advance and get a room for £40/night all in for the family its not that bad.
