Rooms not worth the rates,old tired and not satisfactory,whilst waiting to complain another customer was filling in a form about microwave meals,dont know what that was all about.

Pleasantly Pleased

Pros: Location, Friendly and pleasant staff.
Cons: Decor
Location: Town centre, St James Square & Minster
A very nice hotel with rooms that look over St. James Minster in St James Park. Very close to everything but not overly noisy. The staff were very helpful and this hotel had real value for money.... Twinings tea, Coffee, hot chocolate and yummy biscuits. The room itself was a bit dated, not like the one pictured in the photos wallpaper missing in places and could have done with a paint. Bathroom very small but it was clean and ok for a one night stay. For the price we paid (just under £50 for 3 for one night, we couldn't grumble and would definitely stay there again. The week before we stayed at the Beeches and paid a lot more for a really poor quality and dirty room run by the folk from fawlty towers, who charged us £10 extra on our card without informing us for a child when we had booked for 3 in the first place. Definitely go with St James. Nicer hotel and much better staffed. (Y) thumbs up x

Good value very convenient

Helpful staff. Bit of noise from city centre revellers early hours but inevitable in tissue location!

No problems

Pros: ebookers
Cons: Beds and pillows harder than i'm used to
Location: Excellent location, right in town centre
Stayed here for 2 nights, staff were excellent, spoke to "Kyle" a couple of times, he was extremely helpful, room was clean, would recommend this hotel with no problem.

Nice hotel good location.

Second time we have started here. A very good hotel. Great location. Friendly staff. And nice restaurant. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Sure we will be back.

weekend stay

Pros: Not far to town on doorstep,not 0.7miles as some websites say.
Cons: Staff
Location: Plenty shops,pubs,nice folk,very friendly.
Room was clean and comfortable.Staff requires training as don't know how to communicate with each other.Night porter took ages to let us in,when I asked what had taken him the time he said bar was packed,looked in and a whole 3 people in there!! Cant understand why staff are telling customers to go to Cleethorpes for a night out and not Grimsby,surely they should be promoting the town and get customers to come back and not stay at Cleethorpes.

Breakfast double charged

They charged breakfast even after phone confirmation that £80 per night with include breakfast. however in check-out another £10 for breakfast - Additional £40 as I stayed 4 nights .. very disappointed!
