Very well placed for accessing all central Helsinki attractions, transport links, restaurants and bars. Really helpful friendly staff. No air conditioning in rooms which was unbearable in our first south facing room but we were able to change rooms and borrow a fan which made sleeping tolerable. Would stay here again for situation.

Simple room for decent price.

Arthur is very basic hotel in the heart of Helsinki. You have to keep in mind that Helsinki is very expensive city and if you aren't willing to put 90% of your travel budget to your hotel then Arthur is for you. You only put around 80% of your travel budget towards hotel by staying there. Arthur is one of the cheapest if not the cheapest hotel in town. And you do get what you pay for. Room is clean and very small. It feels more like staying at your aunties than at a hotel. Beds are comfortable and clean, had a wonderful good night sleep there. As long as you keep in mind that Helsinki is very expensive city and you aren't willing to spend all your money for a hotel then you will be perfectly fine at Arthur. Now if this was any other city than Helsinki one could be pretty upset with the cost and what you get for it. Breakfast is basic Finnish breakfast, ryebreads, oatmeal, toast, coffee and canned fruit.

The wrong night

On teh positive side: The staff were very friendly and efficient, and the room was beautifully clean. The hotel is nicely centrally located and a short walk from the station. The food I had in the hotel restaurant was great. On the downside, I've taken away some points on the comfort rating. Some teenypop singer was playing in Helsinki the night I was there and the hotel was full of teeny fans. A crowd of lads drinking cheap beer and smoking outside the entrance is not a good look, and the shrieking running back and forth that they and the girls carried on in the corridors into the wee small hours didn't help my sleep. The morning was interupted by a loud truck taking away the garbage at about 4:30 a.m., whose driver felt the need to sound the horn as a departure gesture. Thanks! The garbage was apparently taken away again at about 5:30 a.m. Thanks again! I was feeling quite shabby by the time my own alarm chipped in with some noise of its own. Okay, I know I sound like an old whinger, but I had a business meeting the next morning and wanted to be fresh for that. I'd still recommend the hotel, but would also recommend taking some earplugs in case the nocturnal noise is not a one off.

Henkilökunta oli mukavaa ja ystävällistä. Hotellin sijainti on hyvä, aivan keskustan tuntumassa ja parkkihalli aivan vieressä.
