The property was very welcoming and set in lovely grounds. Obviously the property is very old but looked after and kept well. Some parts needed modernisation/redecoration compared to others but it was an enjoyable stay. The food was amazing our evening meal was certainly 10 out of 10! The breakfast was good too. We used the swimming pool which was great and the facilities were very clean. I have to mention the staff who were brilliant and so friendly during the current climate "Covid". There were less staff (restaurant/reception/Bar area) and they were rushing around to look after you and tend to your needs. They did a fantastic job 😊. They are a credit to the hotel !

Old Manor House buildings with some modern touches. Room was very spacious but could do with some TLC. Shower was a bit too powerful and not thermostatic. Colleagues in other rooms had no hot water during their two night stay. Breakfast was acceptable on first day, but was late being prepared on day two. One of the staff commented that guests had arrived for breakfast too early which is why breakfast service was delayed, which made me feel like I was the problem, (I arrived for breakfast at 07:00 - start of breakfast service). The waiting staff could have been a bit more cheerful- maybe a sign of underlying employment issues?? The breakfast food was good quality with a good choice. At checkout, no VAT receipt was provided as the internet and TV system had gone off, but a receipt was emailed to me directly two hours later, which was very good.

A good night at the Manor of Groves

For a 3 star hotel, it really was quite a pleasant stay. The staff were delightful and were always happy to help. The hotel was clean and the food was good. The rooms were good and the leisure centre was a bonus. Just be aware of the family hours in the pool. All important breakfast was very good. Would recommend it for the price if you needed an overnight in the area.
