Gute Lage

Der Hoteleingang ist nicht besonders vertrauenserweckend bzw. einladend: sehr schmal, klein, unansehnlich. So unscheinbar, dass der Taxifahrer uns einen Eingang weiter im The Gloucester auslud. An der Rezeption setzt sich dieser Eindruck fort. Diese befindet sich im 3. Stock. Im Fahrstuhl weisen abgenutzte Plastikaufkleber darauf hin. Der Rezeptionsbereich gehört eher in eine Jugendherberge als in ein 4-Sterne Hotel. Auch für Hongkong sehr ungewöhnlich. Das Premiumzimmer präsentiert sich mit einer super schönen Aussicht auf den Hafen. Sauber, qualitativ gut eingerichtet, bequeme Betten (auch für meinen lädierten Rücken gut)...nur zwei Kleinigkeiten sind zu erwähnen: der Abstand zwischen Bett und Wand ist wohl nicht grösser als 30 cm und auch für das Servicepersonal wohl schlecht zu erreichen (der einzige Bereich, der sichtbar nicht ordentlich geputzt war) und das Licht im Badezimmer ist völlig unbrauchbar. Vor dem Hotel befindet sich eine Art viel befahrener Verkehrsknotenpunkt. Der Verkehrslärm ist allerdings kaum wahrnehmbar (subjektiv). Zur Zeit befindet sich eine Grossbaustelle ca. 50 - 100 m entfernt. Tagsüber etwas Baustellenlärm, nachts nichts zu hören. Ansonsten ist die Lage nicht nur wegen der schönen Aussicht top: Causeway Bay (Shopping) und Wan Chai (Amüsiermeile) ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss zu erreichen. Das Personal hat 5 Sterne verdient: Freundlich und kompetent!
