To reach Incheon from Seoul, the nation's capital, you'd need to head 20 miles to the west. Another good point of reference is Ilsandong, which lies 17 miles to the northeast.

One of the best ways to understand the now is to look to the past. Discover what's shaped this city into the place it is today at the Ganghwa History Museum and the Geomdan Prehistory Museum.

Step back in time with a visit to Incheon Dohobu Cheongsa and the Incheon Landing Memorial Monument Hall. They're superb places to gain a real understanding of Incheon's history. Ganghwasanseong Fortress and Munsusanseong Fortress are also well worth a visit.
