Booked a deluxe room for one night. When entering the hotel lobby the reception was empty, no staff around. There were open beer bottles and glasses all around. After ringig the bell three (!) times, finally someone came to have a look for guests. At the hotel the reception staff didn’t found any booking in their system. I had to call the booking agency to confirm the booking to her as she was afraid that we didn’t paid for the room. Finally after 15 minutes discussing she found a booking and the room key was handed over. The room on the third floor was very tiny and it had a really strange smell. It clearly wasn’t that room from the booking page. I headed downstairs to the reception and asked her for confirming that that room is a deluxe room. The reception staff explained me that they haven’t any deluxe rooms in their hotel. Just basic rooms. She asked me why we didn’t like the room. I explained to her that I paid for a deluxe room not the basic room. She had a phone call with the hotel manager. They handed over a room key from their sister hotel, just around the corner, which would be the “suite”. Arriving in the “suite” it was a basic room with a extremely small bathroom and also not really the standard of a deluxe room. However the room was ok for us as we already spent an hour discussing. The breakfast is below average and the staff could need a training in costumer service. Absolutely not recommended.
