Friendly hotel with good range of facilities

Pros: Great variety with its hillside setting
Cons: More bikes for the beach and hire should be included in the all inclusive plan. There should not be a $10 charge for umbrellas on the beach -
Location: Nearby FFryes beach with Dennis's restaurant is well worth a trip. Jolly Harbour lacks sparkle!
The luxurious individual villa style rooms make this hotel on the hillside feel very relaxed -it is so spacious and private. There is a laidback vibe where the main restaurant/bar/pools/gym are located and then, when you venture up the steep slope to Carmicheals where you have stupendous views and a great cocktail service by another small pool, things feel rather special This is not your typical boring beachside hotel- You need to take a shuttle to the beach - or walk for 20 mins -and it is well worth it A stunning beach -and a decent lunchtime restaurant -providing it is not overwhelmed by the cruise ship visitors, which happens... On these days go early or late and spend the rest of the day by the pools! Most evenings we enjoyed fantastic music - a real bonus. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful... they are the main reason to return.

Great Couples Holiday

We had a great time at sugar ridge. The only issue we had was with the food menus which did not alter day to for lunch. However if you go to the beach bar the choice is a lot better. I think the hotel should offer a more varied evening and lunch menu at the hotel.

Sugar Ridge resort, Antigua

Overall had an excellent 9 nights in hotel all inclusive in room with balcony plunge pool. Slight drawbacks were insufficient storage in room and hotel did not have anybody knowledgeable about excursions. We had booked independently so didn't have the advantage of a local rep to advise us.

GREAT VIEWS

THE HOTEL BUILT INTO THE HILLSIDE, THEREFORE LOTS OF STEPS.THE HIGHER THE ROOM THE BETTER THE VIEWS BUT MORE STEPS. YOU CAN HOWEVER GET THE SHUTTLE TO THE ROOMS OR THE RESTAURANTS ETC.. THE STAFF MADE THIS HOTEL THEY CANNOT DO ENOUGH FOR YOU, FRIENDLY AND POLITE. THE BIG DOWNER FOR US WAS THE TRAFFIC NOISE.
