    About this property

Quiet Modern Cottage With HOT TUB Cairngorms National Park

We built 'Aspen', in the traditional cottage style, in 2006. It is semi rural in Kincraig, within the Cairngorms National Park. The Cairngorms Mountains are 1/2 hour drive. We are ideally situated for hill walkers, many mountains less than 1 hour's drive. The Suie is pub 10 minutes walk away; there are no shops in Kincraig, the nearest supermarkets are Aviemore and Kingussie; TESCO will home deliver a grocery order. Aspen has had a major remodelling in 2017 with the addition of upstairs accommodation and refurbishing of the downstairs bathrooms; three modern bath/shower rooms/toilets all with underfloor heating so no waiting! To the rear the hot tub with jets and ipod friendly is great to relax in while surrounded by native birch woodland; real wooden floor in the downstairs lounge and kitchen; oil fired central heating throughout; new carpets; The accommodation comprises GROUND FLOOR : Entrance porch, with cupboard and hanging space; Open plan lounge, with wooden floor, coal/log fire, TV (Sky Freeview), seating for 6 people; Open plan Kitchen, with 4 ring electric hob, grill/top oven and main oven; microwave; dishwasher; fridge, table; door to rear garden; Utility room with fridge freezer, washing machine/dryer, clothes pulley and sink; Bedroom 1 (downstairs): sleeps 2; double bed, bedside tables and reading lights; built in wardrobe; ensuite with large walk in shower, wc and sink; heated towel rail; underfloor heating Bedroom 2 (downstairs) : sleeps 2; 2 single beds; built in hanging space; Bathroom : Bath, wc and shower; heated towel rail; underfloor heating UPPER FLOOR : Bedroom 3 (upstairs) : sleeps 2; king double bed; built in wardrobes; ensuite shower room with large walk in shower, wc and sink; heated towel rail; underfloor heating; Upper lounge : spacious area with two double sofas and one single chair; TV (Freesat); electric fire; door to balcony; Balcony : overlooking back garden; space for 2 seats and table OUTSIDE THE HOUSE Aspen benefits from a birch woodland setting. The plot is completely fenced. Our secluded back garden catches the late morning to late afternoon sunshine. A newly constructed deck is accessed from the kitchen doors. Relax in the hot tub with jets with that well deserved drink! The garden swing is an original Cairngorm Chairlift chair, salvaged from a sell off some years ago when the chairlift was dismantled and replaced by the Funicular Railway. In the garden, see the local birds feed; red squirrels are often seen. From the front gate walk 5 mins into the nearby woodland. Crossing the railway bridge brings you to a SSSI, an environmentally protected site of special scientific interest, and the lovely Loch Insh nestling in the Cairngorm foothills. From here there are fantastic views to the Cairngorm Mountains. Many more local walk combinations are possible from Aspen, including the Speyside Way which starts north from Kincraig village centre. No extra charges for water or electricity.
