    Comfortable and clean.

Overall, the place was clean and comfortable. Nice enough hosts. Comfortable beds and seemed clean throughout. The exterior garden could use some attention. Location is off beaten path, which has good and bad points. Specifically towards the guest house itself and the facilities they do and do not offer. If you are on foot or cycling, there is no convience of a store or restraunt nearby. Even by car, it's a 15 minute journey of tight and tough roads. Which is ok for breakfast, as that is included. So they do offer dinner, but not all of the time it seems. Which sometimes you do not know about until after you have arrived. So I would suggest that due to the remote location, they should be able to offer a fridge and at least a microwave to guests. Which one could store and heat up your own food. This could easily be done in the current breakfast room, but they lock it off to guests (after breakfast and if not serving dinner). Also, it is a great thing that the place is a vegetarian guest house. However, they dont really cater much to vegans. Which would seem logical that they would provide for this. They seem to focus on offering eggs and cheese, but nothing specifically for vegans. They do have a few slices of vegan ham and offer a few other bits. Otherwise there is no real option for a cooked breakfast if dont eat eggs. All this said, it is a decent and peaceful place to stay and relax. They maybe just need to consider their facilties and location trade off.

Beautiful place but host could be nicer

The house is beautiful, nicely decorated and immaculate, in a beautiful spot in the middle of the mountains. I was very happy to support a vegetarian business. However, the dinner wasn't a great deal (pasta and salad, though it did come with a glass of wine). Also, the hosts were surprisingly regimented about the schedule. The first thing he said when I arrived was "Just in time for dinner" and then, after showing us our room, "See you in five minutes," apparently already stressed that we might be late. Even the common area has a closing time, I think 10 p.m. The next morning, we had forgotten that check-out was on the early side (10:30 a.m.), although we were packed up and nearly out the door anyway. The host came to the room and hustled us out in such a brusque way that it cast a pall over the whole stay. It would have been easy enough to be polite about this; as I said, we were on our way out already. He didn't even say goodbye after we paid him, and we showed ourselves out.

The Green Cruachan is a beautiful house, warm and comfortable, Edwin was a really helpful host, the breakfast was lovely and he kindly posted my husband's coat which he left behind. The room was very big with a comfortable settee, TV coffee-making facilities, even a bed and biscuits for the dog.

      Good for vegetarians.

Fantastic room, very clean. Owners seemed a nice couple but seemed very regimented and not welcoming but in their defence they are new to hospitality. Breakfast was nice but felt it could have been friendlier. Nearest restaurant is some way away and they close early, no take away in the nearest town. All in all, the accommodation was perfect but hosting skills need to be refined.
