OK if budget is very tight
We stayed here for our honeymoon for one night since it's close to the airport and we had an early morning flight. The property was the first to open when tourism had just hit Langkawi, and they've preserved the original structure well. However, there are some downsides that come with an aging property. Rooms are spread out throughout the large property so you need to be shuttled to and from your room with a golf cart, unless you don't mind a far walk. Lighting is poor at night if you do decide to walk, and even during the day the staircases to the rooms are dark so you can easily trip. The rooms are spread out in two-storey cottages, and the only access to the 2nd floor of any cottage is via staircase, so if you are physically challenged, you are stuck with a ground floor room which can be noisy. Overall, the property felt very dirty. We saw stains on our TV remote and didn't want to touch it. The ledge on our balcony was covered in grease. The carpet in the room didn't feel clean. The "lake" on the property seemed unkempt. We ate at the beachfront restaurant which also did not feel very clean. The positives are that the stretch of beach in front the hotel is beautiful and easily accessible. The pool is also large and there is a separate water park for kids. Food wasn't bad for both price and quality. And, as you'd find anywhere in Malaysia, the service is good. The hotel is also conveniently located within walking distance to Langkawi eats and shopping.
